As Communications Manager for Poverty Action, Adriana implements storytelling, strategic communications, and media to advance the narrative around poverty in Washington State and works closely with community members to uphold their stories.
She manages our social media and website, and develops print, graphics, and video about our policy priorities and the stories that community members share. Before joining Poverty Action, Adriana worked at Solid Ground as a Housing Specialist, directly serving individuals who were experiencing homelessness and helping them obtain permanent housing. Her background in public health and trauma-informed care is a foundation to her work at Poverty Action.
In addition to her work at Poverty Action, Adriana is a Commissioner for the Seattle Women’s Commission, a board that advises the Mayor and City Council on policy and legislation that advances gender equity in Seattle. Outside of work, Adriana loves reading long novels, practicing yoga, and is constantly plotting her next trip.
