Community Policy Specialist, Solid Ground

Phoenica serves as the Community Policy Specialist at Poverty Action’s parent organization, Solid Ground. In this role, she supports community organizing efforts for more equitable and impactful policies in Seattle and King County, advances advocacy efforts across the Solid Ground community, and supports Solid Ground programs with issues around their public funding.
Phoenica brings over seven years of experience in supporting Seattle’s ecosystem of services. She has worked to center community with donors, funders, and public agencies that support anti-poverty efforts, and is passionate about making our public systems work better for everyone. Phoenica has roots in local food justice work, supporting families and youth living on low incomes in building healthy lives and communities. She serves on the Board of Directors of an organization working to increase food security and nourish neighbors in North King County.
In her free time, Phoenica enjoys cooking Chinese food, biking to bakeries, and making music with her band! She is currently pursuing a Masters of Public Administration with the Evans School at the University of Washington.
