In our Washington state, we understand that positive outcomes require positive investments. By supporting people in meeting their basic needs, we can build a stable foundation for everyone to thrive. The other Washington (DC) has chosen to turn their back on those who have the least to benefit the ultra-wealthy. With deep poverty on the rise in WA, our state must contend with Federal funding cuts meant to gut lifeline programs and place blame on people living in poverty. In our prosperous state, scarcity is a myth and poverty is a policy choice. Therefore, we are committed to spending money on support instead of skepticism. In this Washington, we will fight to leverage progressive revenue and investments in robust social services to support our families and neighbors.
