Five students wait in line for school, listening to music or reading books together.

We believe that everyone is an advocate, and everyone’s voice has power. However, the legislative process is complicated and inaccessible by design. By understanding the processes and strategies at play, we can break down barriers and empower your lived experience to create policy change.

Poverty Action is proud to offer personalized advocacy trainings for your organization, student group, club or office. We offer both virtual and in-person trainings depending on location, and can work with you to cover your priority topics. Compensation is not expected, but donations are gladly accepted.

Our trainings cover topics such as:

  • Washington’s legislative system
  • The path of a bill through the legislature
  • How to turn your experiences into an advocacy story
