Throughout the 2025 Legislative Session, the Governor, House of Representatives, and Senate have each proposed an operating budget for the 2025-2027 biennium. The operating budget determines the level of funding for all state spending, including many investments and programs that serve communities living on low incomes in Washington state. House and Senate budget writers have held hearings on these proposals and are busy negotiating to arrive at a final budget.

We believe that our legislators should prioritize a budget that has a positive impact on the people and families living on the lowest incomes in our state, who are especially vulnerable to federal volatility and rely on social services to meet their basic needs.
